This double deck set of playing cards feature the 19th century post impressionist Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh masterwork 'Irises' made in 1889 while shortly after being voluntarily interned to a psychiatric institution at Saint-Paul-de-Mausole. Influenced by Ukiyo-e prints by Japanese artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Van Gogh not only adopted a similar aesthetic quality but also decided to portray as well subjects reflecting every day life.
