English walnut chunk from a tree on pardue university campus. Planted in 1890 i believe. I only have the one chunk now but im including pictures of things i made from the rest of it. It has the pearlescent effect of black walnut which is the reason behind bl walnut is more desirable usually. This chunk made it through a house fire and is just fine! Crazy right? And you wouldnt believe the time i had trying to cut and chizel it.
